Dr Clemens Weis is Cideon’s new managing director

There has been a change in the management of Cideon Software & Services: Dr Clemens Weis took over the operational management of Cideon Software & Services on 1 November 2020. With his experience and expertise in digital transformation processes and the latest platform technologies, he will be maintaining the company’s steady development.

The successor has now been named to the previous Cideon Managing Director Clemens Voegele, who has now taken over the position of the Friedhelm Loh Group’s Chief Digital Officer (CDO) on 1 July 2020: “We are delighted that Dr Clemens Weis will be the new Managing Director of Cideon. Dr Weis has outstanding technological and industrial expertise in the fields of digitisation and Industry 4.0, as well as in business development and the strategic orientation of the software business,” says Clemens Voegele. The latter remains Chairman of Cideon’s Management Board after 1 November 2020.

With this move, Cideon, a member of the Friedhelm Loh Group of companies, is further strengthening its activities as a leading system integrator in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Cideon advises and supports customers at all process stages, from the initial concept to engineering, manufacturing and service. Cideon enables the continuous flow of data along the process chain, making it economically viable through innovative solutions.

The 55-year-old was last employed as Managing Director of Grenzebach Digital GmbH, where he was responsible for digitisation within the Grenzebach Group (which specialises in automation solutions in mechanical and plant engineering) and for the re-engineering of high-level machine-oriented application systems. Before that, he had been CEO of “Industrie Reply,” a consulting firm for technologies based on Big Data, cloud computing and the Internet of Things (IoT). There he oversaw the group’s activities in the Industry 4.0 sector. This included setting up a development department for IIoT software and platforms. Dr Weis (who is married with two daughters) has a master’s degree in computer science (Dipl.-Inform.) and a doctorate in mechanical engineering (Dr.-Ing.).
